This paper gives a general introduction to the key elements, operation and benefits of digital video recording, using the example of a CCTV application based on VideoBridge technology. In this context, digital recording means the contemporaneous storage, locally or remotely, of unabridged, real-time, full motion colour video, independently of conventional recording or multiplex hardware.
