IFSEC 2008 News of the Show

(1) IQinVision Celebrates 10 Years of Megapixel Technology Leadership. “Time and again, IQinVision has led the market in innovation and then exploiting that innovation for increased sales. We’ve been designing, developing, and producing megapixel and multi-megapixel network cameras longer than anyone in the world,” IQinVision President and CEO, Pete DeAngelis. What defines innovation? IQinVision has been 1st in:

• Power-Over-Ethernet
• CMOS progressive scan
• Live digital PTZ
• Multi-user independent access
• Megapixel IP camera
• Megapixel 360 immersive video
• People counting camera
• 30 fps high-speed megapixel
• HDTV images/Digital image cropping
• No-client-software recording/playback
• Multi-megapixel
• On-camera authentication
• Resolution-on-demand
• On-camera video alarm verification
• Wide dynamic range, WVGA CMOS camera

(2) IQinVision Releases the IQeye Alliance SeriesTM. A megapixel dome designed for end users with the installer in mind. Alliance is the security industry’s first fully-integrated, vandal-resistant megapixel dome system available in resolutions from VGA all the way up to high-definition 2-megapixel quality.

(3) Enhanced Multi-Stream Firmware Targeted for Retail, Banking, and Transportation Applications. The free firmware upgrade provides the user with up to 64 unique simultaneous streams from a single IQeye camera. At VGA (640x480) resolution the IQeye’s robust processor can deliver at least six unique simultaneous video streams, with each stream delivering 12 or more frames-per-second on 1, 2, and 3 megapixel models and up to 10 fps on 5 megapixel models.

(4) IQinVision and via:sys Make IQeye Smart Cameras Smarter. A new firmware enables customers to run the complete suite of via:sys video analytics on IQeye megapixel network cameras, minimizing the amount of video data sent over the network and reducing the amount of processing the server has to handle.

(5) Leading Dutch Hospital Deploys IQeye Megapixel Cameras. Waterland Hospital evaluated reliability, proven technology, price, ease of use, quality and support, and in the final decision chose the IQeye cameras—the cameras that delivered all the desired end-user benefits and a lower TCO.

(6) Polish University Relies on IQinVision for Global Warming Research: IQeye megapixel cameras deliver reliability and performance under arctic conditions. Thanks to the IQeye cameras, scientists for the first time recorded the phenomena of subglacial water flowing out to sea. The IQeye images together with other meteorological and seismic data will allow scientists to better define the effects of climate change on the glacier.

(7) Three Norwegian Installations—IQinVision continues to expand in Scandinavia:
• Oslo Shopping Mall: Looking for the most reliable megapixel cameras, this mall has installed IQeye 511 cameras to monitor inside the stores and Sentinel Series cameras in the parking areas.
• Innovative Hospital Application: On the west coast of Norway, this hospital uses IQeye superior megapixel imaging technology (replacing PTZ cameras) to keep close watch on patients under psychiatric observation.
• High School: This Oslo high school relies on IQinVision for surveillance of parking areas and building entrances. IQeye cameras were chosen over Arecont for their reliability and image quality.
For all three installations, Milestone’s XProtect is the video management software.

(8) Warsash Maritime Academy Monitors Simulator Tests with IQeye Cameras. Warsash has deployed IQeye 700 Series megapixel cameras to improve the effectiveness of its simulator training for students. The IQeye’s high-quality video images are essential to training effectiveness: teaching staff must be in a separate control room where they cannot see directly into the simulator, so IQeye video feeds enable them to see and hear what the students are doing, how the instruments read, and where the controls are set.

(9) IQeye Cameras Win the Race. Armoured Technologies sponsored a car in the Rallye Sunseeker in the UK in late February. They wanted to get more bang for their marketing investment, so they installed two IQeye megapixel cameras in the car to transmit live images during the race. The cameras operated flawlessly and Armoured is looking forward to many more races and transmitting exciting crystal-clear IQeye video of their future wins.

(10) IQU and A&E Seminar Series Off to Great Start. The company continues to expand its major educational focus by launching IQ University, a certified training partner course, and the A&E Series. The IQU training course is designed to educate individuals to properly sell, install and maintain IQeye cameras. There have been 10 training sessions in Europe and the US, with over 100 partners certified. The A&E Series is focused on delivering key information when specifying a video surveillance system. Part One focused on the “Pixels-per-Meter” message. Part Two, scheduled for later in 2008, focuses on the “Frames-per-Second” message.

(11) City of Beverly Hills Relies on IQinVision to Improve Public Safety. The city has started phase three of installation, increasing the camera number to 80+. With each new phase, cameras cover more of the six-square mile city and will eventually comprise more than 300 cameras. Surveillance includes Department of Homeland Security sites for water reservoirs, treatment, and distribution; city streets, including prestigious Rodeo Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard; cameras mounted high to alert the Fire Department of fires in the hills around the city; and street intersections for traffic monitoring.

(12) Milestone Recognizes IQinVision at Annual MIPS event. Milestone Systems recognized IQinVision as “2007 Manufacturer of the Year,” a tremendous recognition of leadership and innovation by our peers.
