Confirms company’s ongoing efforts to provide open-architecture, cross-platform security surveillance solutions
Exacq Technologies, the company that designs and manufactures exacqVision video management system (VMS) software and systems, has announced its membership in the Physical Security Interoperability Alliance.
“We’ve been committed to open-architecture and cross-platform solutions since we first introduced exacqVision in early 2006,” notes Roger Shuman, Marketing Manager with Exacq Technologies. “Organizations like PSIA promote much needed standards in IP-based video surveillance for better integration between the key components in physical security. Furthermore, the cooperation fostered by PSIA creates best-in-class solutions for the entire security industry.”
The exacqVision VMS software runs on either a Windows or Linux operating system on a factory installed hybrid (analog and network cameras) Network Video Recorder (NVR), a factory installed IP camera NVR server or on a commercial off-the-shelf server. The software integrates with analog cameras, IP cameras, access control systems and industry standard iSCSI storage systems from a wide range of manufacturers. The exacqVision client is freely available for Windows, Linux and Macintosh operating systems. In addition, a thin client runs on any standard web browser while mobile “apps” are available for Apple iPhone and Google Android devices.
The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance is a global consortium of physical security manufacturers and integrators focused on promoting the interoperability of IP-enabled security devices across every segment of the industry. PSIA supports license-free standards and specifications, which are vetted in an open and collaborative manner to the industry as a whole. Specifications are developed through member and industry participation in five active working groups: IP Video, Video Analytics, Recording and Content Management, Area Control and Systems. To date, more than 1,300 industry professionals have downloaded PSIA’s specifications.
