Best Practices for Protecting IP Security Systems Offering Designed to Provide Guidance for Implementing Infrastructure Protection
At this year's ISC West in Las Vegas, On-Net Surveillance Systems, Inc. (OnSSI) is participating in an innovative, high value Best Practice Lab presentation and demonstration. The company is a founding sponsor of the Best Practices for Protecting your IP Security Systems Technology Lab and daily seminar that will illustrate how to implement protection for an IP-networked security system.
Best Practices presentations and integrated technology demonstrations will be conducted by industry leading consultants Ray Bernard, Rodney Thayer and James Connor as well as from OnSSI staff and other co-hosting participants.
Todays IP-based physical security environment has created an urgent need to address the issue of vulnerability, and conformance to IT standards for technology used in a networked security solution, said Jeff Knapp, Vice President, Marketing, OnSSI. The creation of the Technology Lab is designed to help users and our channel partners better understand the available options as well as answer questions on how to best protect a physical security system infrastructure.
From small and medium sized businesses to Fortune 100 companies, IT decision makers are being tasked with evaluating physical security system hardware and software to qualify it (or not) to reside on, and/ or communicate over, the corporate network, said Ray Bernard. Evaluations are not limited to just technology itself. Secure technology can be installed in ways that expose it to threats or make its connecting networks insecure. This Best Practices Lab at ISC West takes a close look at what security systems look like under that microscope, and what end users, consultants and integrators need to do to securely deploy networked security technology.
The Bp.IP Technology Lab Suite is located in Room Veronese 2503, located off the walkway between the ISC West Exhibition Hall and the Venetian Hotel. The seminar is scheduled to be held in the suite every afternoon during the show (March 24, 25 and 26) from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Attendance is free but reservations are suggested to ensure a seat.
