Showcase leading edge IP CCTV and Converged Network Solutions
Having jointly won the IFSEC Best Project Award last year specialist IP CCTV supplier Controlware Communications Systems and ntl:Telewest Business have joined forces to showcase leading edge IP CCTV and Converged Network Solutions at IFSEC.
The stand features an integrated IP CCTV surveillance solution that includes management, transmission, recording and content analysis system elements. Combined together in a live environment these system elements demonstrate how users can benefit from advanced IP CCTV solutions.
Two management solutions; Controlware’s own advanced Cware platform and the Bosch Video Management System (Bosch VMS) lie at the heart of the surveillance network. Both are connected to analogue / IP cameras and recording hardware situated around the stand. Each system is user-friendly and provides comprehensive video management, playback, and recording features delivering control of PTZ cameras, access to recorded video and archive search tools.
Cware is an advanced management platform that is user-friendly and does the simple things like viewing, recording and playback well. Over and above these traditional features Cware also boasts advanced tools that make it a world-class surveillance platform. These tools are unique to Cware and must be seen to be believed because they enable operators to navigate and control video better than ever before.
Image Content Navigation (ICN) is a tool designed especially to make operator navigation faster and easier when tracking targets. An invisible mesh of hyperlinks connects cameras together in the video. To track a target with ICN operators simply need to click areas in the video to change cameras. This makes tracking targets easier and faster removing the need to switch camera by manually inputting camera id numbers. For example if an operator is tracking a target moving through a door, the operator just needs to click the video to view images from the next camera situated on the other side of the door. This interlacing of cameras in real-time video provides greater operator interaction improving response times to incidents especially when operators are unfamiliar with the monitored location.
Cware 2.5D advanced mapping technology enables a virtual duplicate to be made of the monitored location. Map based navigation in 2.5D with support of zoom in/out is more effective than traditional one-dimensional maps. Real-time video from individual cameras can be embedded into the map allowing operators to benefit from improved locational awareness, easier identification of security threats and planning of security networks and camera locations.
From a system perspective Cware is also highly scalable. Highly flexibly and cost-effective architecture enables Cware to easily manage single or multiple locations and all sizes of installation, supporting thousands of cameras. A modular approach utilising common PC, networking and storage hardware, provides a platform for endless scalability, without requiring full and costly system upgrades. Adding new cameras, clients and storage capacity is easy and by supporting a high level of system redundancy disruption to security operations is reduced.
