Veracity Announces the release of PINPOINT

Installers worldwide struggle with one thing- how to focus an IP camera (especially a megapixel IP camera) when it is installed in the field.

Does the installer open the box in the office, assign the IP address, focus the camera and then take it out to the location, hang it and re-focus? Does the camera get hung, and then assigned an IP address and focused by the classic cellphone call back to the control room conversation ("No, a little to the left...no your OTHER left!" or "Ahh you almost had it but it's fuzzy again")?

Does the installer get a camera with a BNC output for focus and use an analog focusing device only to realize that he or she is focusing a megapixel lens using an analog low-resolution image?

These challenges are overcome with the newest Veracity innovation - PINPOINT.

PINPOINT- a small, 3-port device with an Ethernet "in" jack, Ethernet "out" jack preconfigured with cat5 cable and an RJ45 jack and a 3rd Ethernet port designed to allow a laptop, netbook, PDA, etc. to be attached- allows installers to easily set up and focus POE enabled IP cameras.

No external power is needed as both the PINPOINT unit and camera use POE.

A flying lead connection to the camera and clear connection diagram make installation a breeze.

PINPOINT is compatible with standard POE and POE Plus, and most non-standard POE up to 30 watts.

PINPOINT features an integrated network crossover, so standard network cable can be used.

POE Enabled indicator provides visual confirmation that the camera is receiving power.

PINPOINT is very compact in size (58mm x 32mm x 21mm) and constructed for stowing in a tool box or belt as well as a shirt pocket or laptop bag.

With PINPOINT the focusing piece of an IP camera installation becomes much easier, and significantly faster. The installer simply installs the IP camera, plugs the PINPOINT into the camera, attaches PINPOINT to the installed Ethernet cable, and then attaches a 3rd peripheral device such as a laptop or netbook to the 3rd Ethernet port on the PINPOINT. The peripheral device is used to focus the camera via a web browser or camera software.

Once finished, the installer simply pulls the PINPOINT out, attaches the installed Ethernet cable to the camera and moves on to the next camera.

PINPOINT is effective, it's easy to use...and it will be inexpensive so that every installer can afford to carry one!
