Arecont Vision's H.264 MegaDome cameras 

 
   Arecont Vision has expanded its full line of H.264 cameras with the addition of the MegaDome series, integrating the camera, lens and housing into an all-in-one solution. Available in color or day/night versions and with 1.3M to 5 megapixel sensors, the dome cameras incorporate Arecont Vision's fully-compliant implementation of H.264 (MPEG 4, Part 10) compression that uses up to 10 times on average less bandwidth and storage compared to megapixel counterparts using MJPEG compression.
 
Features include: H.264 (MPEG 4, Part 10) compression, superior low light sensitivity, IP66 weatherproofing standard, and wall & pendant wall options.

Market Leaders Milestone and OnSSI Announce Collaboration
   On-Net Surveillance Systems, Inc. (OnSSI) and Milestone Systems have signed an "ingredient OEM," (Original Engineering Manufacturer) agreement, where the Milestone XProtect IP software platform will act as one of the recording engines for OnSSI's Ocularis Video Management Platform, with the Milestone API and OnSSI's Ocularis facilitating the integration. The cooperation of these two companies represents a strong relationship that will enhance the offerings available to the security industry.

VideoIQ Embraces Key Industry Standards for System Interoperability
 
   VideoIQ states that it is committed to the advancement of key industry standards for system interoperability and integration, including the Security Industry Association's (SIA) Open Systems Integration and Performance Standards (OSIPS) Digital Video Interface (DVI). When consolidated and harmonized into a single, published standard for public use, the OSIPS DVI will provide customers with greater choice in intelligent video surveillance solutions, according to VideoIQ's Chief Scientist Dr. Mahesh Saptharishi, who serves as the current technical editor for the OSIPS DVI.

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa Relies on DVTel for Video Surveillance
   The Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, Reno, NV has standardized on the DVTel Intelligent Security Operations Center (iSOC) to provide video surveillance throughout the entire entertainment and hotel complex. The 1000 room Atlantis recently completed a $75 million expansion that included a new poker room, race & sports book, sports bar, Manhattan Deli, new ballroom and meeting rooms, spa and a skybridge connecting it to the Reno/Sparks Convention Center.

Axis Network Cameras are Being Installed in U.S. Schools
   Chippewa Valley School District in Michigan is using Axis network cameras to increase public school security in a cost-effective manner. More than 600 network cameras and video encoders are being installed in the district's high schools and ninth grade centers during spring 2009. Located in the suburban Detroit area, Chippewa Valley is the state's 10th largest school district (out of more than 500), serving 15,000 students. 
 
Panasonic's New Management Server Handles IP Video On A Global Scale
   Panasonic System Solutions Company introduces a new video management server that provides flexibility and scalability for a range of video networking needs, up to and including creation of a global system with universal cross-network access to video. Panasonic's new PMPU1000 is a Surveillance System Management Server that can accommodate 1,023 devices in an IP-based digital system.
CBC America Unveils a 3 Megapixel IR Corrected Lens
   The Computar 3-megapixel lens, Model H3Z4518CS-MPIR from CBC America is engineered to capture the full resolution of megapixel cameras. Designed for the most challenging security applications, it provides high contrast, brightness and sharpness across the entire image plane for optimal image quality.

Sentry 360 presents a Low-Light Performance Camera Series
   Sentry 360 Security, Inc. releases four new multi-megapixel network cameras under the InSight family of products. Historically CMOS megapixel sensors have had serious issues performing in low light sensitive applications, forcing installers to rely upon CCD low lux analog cameras to deliver quality images. The InSight Fixed and IP66 rated domes have high quality progressive scan CCD sensors that eliminate motion blur and have dual stream compression technology for bandwidth management. Models range from rugged to miniature. 
 
NUUO Scores Big at Lambeau Field
 
   NFL stadium, Lambeau Field, home to the Green Bay Packers and winners of 12 league championships, selected NUUO surveillance system to monitor the complex. The centerpiece of the stadium is the Lambeau Field Atrium, a 366,000-square-foot, five-story structure. The NUUO hybrid system has increased the video quality, utilizes a low bandwidth and storage size has improved the archive storage from the previous 1 day on the old system to 2 months. The NUUO hybrid system manages 150 cameras at a time, including
70 IP cameras.
 
JVC Consolidates U.S. Operations as JVC USA; Names New President
   JVC has completed the consolidation of its U.S. operations under a newly formed American subsidiary, JVC USA. The consolidation combines JVC's three U.S. sales divisions and its U.S. service company into a single U.S. organization. Also announced is the appointment of new President/CEO, Hiro Ishizuka.
Pelco Presents Best-in-Class Optics and Low-Light Performance
   Continually striving to enhance the optical performance of the Spectra Integrated Dome Positioning System, Pelco engineers have developed a new series of Integrated Optics Packages designed to do just that. "When it comes to video security and having actionable information, it all starts with the picture," says Alex Doorduyn, Pelco Product Marketing Manger. "And these redesigned cameras deliver unparalleled video quality and low-light performance - in any lighting challenge."

They now support MJPEG/MPEG-4 compression, audio, DI/DO, and dual stream features of VIVOTEK's new 7000 series network cameras. The versatile surveillance solution meets a variety of applications such as transportation, banking, government, military and retailing. 
 
Genetec to Leverage ObjectVideo Surveillance Solution
   Genetec will integrate the ObjectVideo OV Ready protocol within its Omnicast video surveillance management solution to interface with ObjectVideo OnBoard device partners. Omnicast is an enterprise-class IP video surveillance solution that provides seamless management of digital video, audio and data across IP network. 
 
March Networks Adds to Portfolio 
  March Networks releases the Video Management System (VMS) software and a new addition to its family of high-definition IP cameras. These integrated products are the latest enhancements to the Company's VideoSphere Intelligent Video Management portfolio that delivers the high performance required by commercial and government organizations in a wide range of applications. 
 
Texas Police Invests in IndigoVision
   Grand Prairie Police Department, Texas, has transformed the way it uses CCTV after installing a complete integrated IP Video solution from IndigoVision. Replacing an ageing and unreliable VCR/analog system, which was used primarily for video archive, the new IndigoVision system is being used as an active tool to help manage the facility. As with most law enforcement facilities Grand Prairie PD has a complex security environment, mixing all the normal Police operations, with a short-term detection facility and areas that require public access. The 40 camera system was installed by IndigoVision's local approved partner Metroplex Control Systems.

City of Trenton Uses Pivot3 for Video Storage Needs 
 
   The City of Trenton and the Trenton Police Department in New Jersey are using Pivot3 clustered storage to support two different video surveillance projects. At the Trenton City Hall, for example, the goal was to provide instant access to 30 days of stored video from IP cameras used for general facilities security. The data storage requirements prompted the City to look for a scalable storage solution that provides fast access at a cost point that met both the mandated capacity requirements and the internal budget.

ioimage Intelligent Video Installed in Botswanian Correctional Facility
   ioimage reports that the Botswana's Department of Correctional Services has installed ioimage video analytics at its First Offenders Correctional Facility in Gabarone, Botswana. The prison needed a reliable and accurate perimeter protection solution that would integrate with the existing video management system. It also had to be easy to operate and capable of withstanding the region's harsh weather conditions.
