IP-in-Action LIVE SF Features Sales and Technology Techniques
    IP technology education is at the core of IP UserGroup USA and its IP-in-Action LIVE events. The latest LIVE program in San Francisco, CA on November 18, 2008, went even one step further. It kicked off with a keynote on how to make money from IP technology. The Opening Keynote "Increase Revenues and Customer Loyalty with IP Security," featured Bob Harris, Founder, The Attrition Busters.
ioimage Video Analytics Installed to Protect the Vatican                   
  
ioimage intelligent video appliances, monitored by an ioiware Command Center, are being used to detect intruders along the Vatican. ioimage was selected from several other video analytics suppliers for this major contract. The first unit was installed in 2005 following a year of intensive testing which demonstrated the system's superior ease of installation, stability and reliability. Since then, it has proven itself as an effective deterrent against intruders.

OnSSI Solution Implemented in Amityville School System
   The Amityville, NY school system is now a safer place, thanks to a video surveillance management solution from On-Net Surveillance Systems Inc. (OnSSI).
   The recent installation of an IP-based integrated security solution at the Amityville Middle and High Schools in the Amityville Union Free School District was designed around an open platform, enabling interoperability between systems as well as providing the ability to add on and upgrade as needs and budgets dictate in the future.
 
Shopping Mall Migrates to Digital CCTV with IndigoVision IP Video
   Meadowhall Shopping Center is using IndigoVision's IP Video technology to replace its obsolete DVR based CCTV recording system. Located in Sheffield, Meadowhall is one of the UK's largest shopping malls with hundred's of retail outlets and requires high-quality CCTV surveillance to ensure safety and security inside and outside of the mall. MITIE Security Systems designed and installed the IndigoVision system having worked closely with the mall to select the best solution to replace the aging DVR recording system.
 
Genetec's AutoVu Protects Streets of Brussels against Vehicle Theft       
   The Anti-Aggression Brigade from the Brussels Police Department has chosen AutoVu, Genetec's IP license plate recognition (LPR) solution, to facilitate the detection of stolen vehicles within the city. Brussels is the first region in Belgium to test the solution and thus far, the Anti-Aggression Brigade has experience remarkable results.
 
Police Departments Pick Fluidmesh   
   Fluidmesh was an especially good choice for the Corning P.D.'s needs because the Police could place cameras at key locations throughout the city without incurring the cost of hard wiring the system. When the City of Corning, New York and its Business Improvement District decided to upgrade its current video monitoring system, Requests for Proposals were reviewed and CPE Interlink of Elmira was chosen as the integrator for the project.
   Salvatore Trentanelli, Corning's Chief of Police, explains, "Our goal was to link five existing cameras in the Visitors Center to the police department located four blocks away. CPE introduced us to Fluidmesh Networks and after a demonstration of their capabilities their system was selected to begin our network."

Hikvision Partners with Milestone 
   Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd., is partnering with Milestone Systems, though an agreement signed in Shanghai, China. Through this partnership, Hikvision's IP surveillance products, such as network cameras and multi-purpose digital video servers, will be compatible with the Milestone XProtect IP video management platform. Hikvision will then introduce the XProtect platform into the Chinese surveillance market, with an eye to expanding it later on for customers worldwide.

Camera Chip Key Component for Outdoor Network Camera  
    The OV10620 high dynamic range (HDR) CameraChip has been selected by VIVOTEK Inc. for use in the company's first all-in-one outdoor day/night HDR network camera, IP7142. VIVOTEK's IP7142 is a dual-mode (night/day) network camera designed primarily for outdoor use in commercial security and surveillance applications. The camera combines VIVOTEK's VVTK-1000 processor with OmniVision's OV10620 HDR CameraChip sensor and uses a 3.3~12mm vari-focal board lens with auto-iris to achieve high quality color images in both daytime and nighttime conditions. The camera employs a removable IR-cut filter to enable its dual mode functionality.
 
Altronix VertiLine Video Power Supplies 
   Altronix announces that its VertiLine series of rack mount power supplies for video surveillance systems are now UL listed in the United States and Canada. VertiLine Rack Mount Video Power Supplies offer 24VAC or 28VAC which is selectable by output to compensate for voltage drop, and an "off" position to allow for service without shutting down the entire system. VertiLine units are available in 8, 16 or 24 outputs in a compact 1U rack mount chassis for standard 19" EIA racks.
  
Panasonic's New Name, New Pricing, and New Financing
   Panasonic Security Systems is now Panasonic System Solutions Company. The name change reflects broader systems based approach. The company also announces a lower user cost for its Iris Recognition System. Effective immediately, the BM-ES200A iris reader administration software now includes up to 5,000 registered users at a significantly lower price.
   In addition, Panasonic System Solutions is introducing a new program to provide innovative financing options primarily through its current Authorized Dealer network, providing a valuable sales tool for dealers and making Panasonic's systems solutions even more affordable for customers.
 
Power Consumption in Pixim's Latest Video Image Processor 
   Using PowerPro CG, the industry's only automated RTL power optimization solution from Calypto Design Systems Inc., Pixim was able to significantly reduce power in its newest video image processor chip.
 
Executive Promotions and Breaking Attendance Records for ScanSource
   ScanSource Security announces changes to its management team. Tony Sorrentino has been named Vice President of Sales and Paul Constantine Vice President of Merchandising. Sorrentino was one of the first executives to join ScanSource Security when it was founded in 2004. He previously served as Vice President of Merchandising for the company, the position that is now being managed by Constantine.
   In other news, ScanSource hosted more than 1,000 resellers, manufacturers and employees at its IMPACT NOW show in Orlando, FL last month.

VideoIQ Introduces Partner Program and Camera/DVR Unit 
   VideoIQ, Inc. introduces the VideoIQ Inner Circle partner program designed for resellers, system integrators and consultants. Launching with charter members including NAVCO, Wachter and G4S Technology, VideoIQ Inner Circle partners are helping customers implement VideoIQ's suite of analytics-driven systems for early warning, security protection and incident investigation.
   In other news, following the successful completion of its Beta Customer Program, VideoIQ  announces general availability of the VideoIQ iCVR, an intelligent surveillance camera with built in DVR. VideoIQ has built advanced analytics, content-aware storage, object search, and intelligent networking into state-of-the-art IP cameras and encoders, which are redefining how IP surveillance works. 
 
Monroe County Utilizes DVTel to Unify IP Surveillance   
   DVTel, Inc. reports that Monroe County in New York is rolling out an IP video surveillance system across the entire county. With the DVTel intelligent Security Operations Center (iSOC) as the management software, the project is scheduled to grow to over 1000 cameras.  The integrator for this major, on-going project is Simplex-Grinnell.

   Axis Communications introduces a network camera with true HDTV performance in compliance with the SMPTE standard in resolution, color representation and frame rate. The AXIS Q1755 Network Camera offers two megapixels, 10x optical zoom and H.264 compression. It is the perfect solution for securing areas where greater image detail is required, such as airports, passport controls and casinos.

Dallmeier Bank Recorder Series  
  The Dallmeier Bank Recorder series comprises compact digital recording systems whose certifications and specific system parameters as well as the specifically designed software make them ideal for bank applications. The bank recorders come with integrated UTC capability, which allows for the convenient configuration of Dallmeier cameras via the recorder interface, even during ongoing business. This function is also available in remote operation via network. Additionally, the recorder configuration offers Privacy Zones and have Kalagate certificate, which means that the recorded images are admitted as evidence in court. The ATM activity survey and Dallmeier's SEDOR technology provides further security.
