Dear Colleague,

TimeSight Systems reports that the company's intelligent networked video recording solution utilizing Video Lifecycle Management (VLM) has been successfully implemented in a Nevada Gaming Commission certified environment for security and surveillance in commercial casinos. The certified installation is at Jerry's Nugget Casino, a Las Vegas hallmark since 1964. Combined with high-resolution, megapixel cameras for the highest video quality, the system also provides state-of-the-art surveillance of both the gaming and retail/hospitality environment with retention of surveillance data for a period of over four times that required by law, hence extending the property's risk coverage significantly.

Integrated System from OnSSI Combines Positive Vehicle ID with Real-Time Video

OnSSI now offers Ocularis IP Video Management platform with license plate recognition capabilities provided by INEX/Zamir. The INEX/Zamir system transforms the license plate image into data, which can be used by Ocularis to call up real-time video based on the license plate number or to provide instant notification/alarms for vehicles of interest. OnSSI's Ocularis IP Video Management solution is an open-architecture, non-proprietary, video-centric software platform.

Arecont Vision introduces a new generation of SurroundVideo Day/Night 8-megapixel H.264 cameras providing 180-degree or 360-degree panoramic views. Arecont Vision Models AV8185DN and AV8365DN are cost-effective solutions for applications where mechanical pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) devices might otherwise be used or where multiple cameras would be needed to view expansive coverage areas. The cameras incorporate surface-mount and in-ceiling mounting options, an IP66-rated environmental chassis, and 5.5-inch polycarbonate dome, eliminating the need for an external housing.

The new AutoVu SharpX, designed specifically for mobile law enforcement applications, stands at just 1.65 inches tall yet provides among the highest plate capture rates in license plate recognition (LPR) cameras. Higher resolution per plate image means better accuracy and improved readability in bad weather, with dirty or obstructed plates, or at difficult angles. More than that, the AutoVu SharpX is capable of reading up to differential speeds over 200 MPH (320 km/h), across three lanes of traffic.

With the Milestone XProtect Device Pack 5.2 that was released at the end of December 2010, users are now able to operate wired and wireless models of Brickcom's Cube, Fixed Box, and Fixed Dome IP cameras with their Milestone XProtect Enterprise, Professional, Essential, Go, and Corporate systems. Milestone XProtect is open platform IP video management software that is known for its reliability and interoperability with other systems. Suitable for any application, users can design a flexible and scalable surveillance system that fits their requirements both today and tomorrow.

Basler's new IP Fixed Dome Camera models are equipped with a two-way audio function and with a new multimedia video processor. With the integration of audio functionality, both a microphone for audio recording and speakers as part of a public address system can be connected to the camera. When this feature is used, Basler's IP Fixed Dome Cameras cover an even wider area of surveillance than the camera's field of view. The BIP2-D1000c-dn camera and the BIP2-D1300c-dn high definition model with a resolution of 1.3 megapixels, provide real-time video at frame rates of up to 30 fps with MJPEG, MPEG-4, and H.264 compression. In addition, Basler IP Fixed Dome Cameras offer a choice of two different H.264 compression profiles, one of which is the High Profile (up to level 5) - the same standard used in Blu-ray technology.
