Rotterdam Shops Use IQeye Smart Megapixel Surveillance
   IQinVision announces that more than 20 downtown Rotterdam shops, in the Netherlands, are deploying IQeye megapixel cameras to combat store robberies. UTS (Unisoft Total Services) is responsible for the overall technological application and installation.

Panasonic and Pelco Enter Interoperability Effort
   Panasonic System Solutions Company and Pelco have aligned under the Panasonic Solution Developer Network (PSDN) in an effort to expand the interoperability of both companies' video surveillance solutions. Pelco currently supports Panasonic i-Pro network cameras with its Digital Sentry Digital Video Management System (DVMS). Expanded interoperability efforts will focus on Pelco's Endura platform, supporting the i-Pro cameras. Panasonic and Pelco will work together to quickly accomplish the interoperability to meet existing customer demand.
Pelco Exits Access Control Business
   In other Pelco news, Pelco management announces that the company has decided to exit the electronic access control business in order to focus resources on supporting Pelco's core video security business.
   Pelco President and CEO Dean Meyer states, "We as a company are forced to continually adapt to market demands. In response, we have initiated the necessary planning to exit the electronic access control (EAC) business with our Intelli-M product line. This decision requires that we explore the options to sell or spin-off the Intelli-M EAC business, as well as to close the EAC business in its entirety."

Goodwill North Carolina Standardizes on Brivo ACS
   Brivo Systems reports that Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina has standardized on Brivo ACS WebService for its 29 retail program centers. ASG Security introduced the Brivo system to Goodwill and oversaw the extensive system installation program.
   The employee entrance doors at all 29 retail centers are monitored by the Brivo system. Fifty-eight Store Managers, six Area Managers and select senior staff have key fob access to the stores. Seven days a week, each morning when a Store Manager opens a retail center an email alert is sent to management.
  
ScanSource Security Kicks Off 2009 IP Workshops
   ScanSource Security kicks off the 2009 edition of its very successful IP Workshop series, developed to train and educate dealers on the benefits of offering IP-based physical security solutions to their end-user customers. The 2009 series will include the technologies of 14 of its industry-leading partners, including Alvarion, Axis Communications, Cisco, DigiOp, dotworkz, HID, IQinVision, Keri Systems, OnSSI, Panasonic Systems Solutions, Quadrox, Ruckus Wireless, Sony and Tropos Networks. 
 
Pixim Partner Program Achieves First Year Success
  
Pixim Inc., reports its Pixim Partner program has achieved strong success in its first year with more than 90 companies taking advantage of the program. "Pixim's Partner Program is unique in both the breadth of the program and Pixim's position in the value chain," said Jennifer Martin, manager of worldwide channel programs at Pixim.
TimeSight Systems Protects Automobile Towing Company
  
TimeSight Systems announces that Certified Towing of Richmond, CA has implemented a TimeSight Video Surveillance appliance with MORe (Motion Optimized Recording) to protect millions of dollars in vehicle inventory and the company's property. The TimeSight VLM solution is a high-resolution video surveillance network that actually lowers video storage requirements and extends retention times. 
 
VideoIQ Expands Distribution Channel Overseas
   VideoIQ, Inc. gains distribution in the Asia-Pacific and EMEA with the signing of two major distribution partners. Since the launch of its flagship video surveillance solution, the VideoIQ iCVR, VideoIQ has experienced significant momentum and demand for the product worldwide, fueling the extension of its distribution channel into new markets. Stratel, based in Malaysia, and Bridge 129, based in Italy, are two of the latest distributors to join the VideoIQ roster of partners.

Axis, OnSSI and Defentect Partner with San Diego State University
   Axis Communications, OnSSI and Defentect announce they have entered a joint operational agreement with San Diego State University's Homeland Security Program and its Immersive Visualization Center (SDSU Viz Center) to establish a permanent gamma radiation detection perimeter system. The program solution will deter, detect, and defend against the illicit transport of radiological materials, which are the core components of dirty bombs. The research demonstration will also help develop techniques for using radiation to assist with numerous Homeland Security and business applications such as moving cargo across borders, oceans, and airways in secure and innovative ways.
Milestone and Lextech Labs Announce Integrated iPhone Solution
   Lextech Labs and Milestone Systems are bringing together Lextech's mobile surveillance iPhone application iRa Pro with the Milestone XProtect Enterprise server. With iRa Pro, users view multiple live video feeds from anywhere on an iPhone or iPod touch simultaneously, and directly control physical camera positioning. For Milestone customers, the integration means availability of a comprehensive mobile surveillance solution and an intuitive interface for remote situational awareness.

PCSC Unveils the Next Evolution in Fault Tolerant System Products
   PCSC introduces the Single Door Module (SDM), the first Fault Tolerant single door controller and reader combination. The SDM is based on a development partnership that utilizes PCSC's patent pending Fault Tolerant system design and HID Global's Edge networked access control technology.
 
Red Light Violators are caught with Arecont Vision Cameras
   Anyone who speeds past a red light in Sofia, the metropolitan capitol of Bulgaria, may find themselves facing irrefutable evidence of their traffic violation in the form of a crisp, clear image from an Arecont Vision AV3130megapixel IP camera. Systems integrator, Sectron Ltd., has installed 26 Arecont Vision AV3130 cameras to expand and enhance a system to catch traffic violators in Sofia.
 
NUUO Network System Integrates with Axis H.264 Network Camera
   NUUO Inc reports its network system can use H.264 network cameras from Axis Communications. The company also introduces the NVR mini (click here). NUUO NVRmini is a Linux embedded NVR standalone for IP surveillance cameras. With Linux embedded system, the NUUO NVRmini offers a stable, open, easy-to-install, and virus-attack-free platform for small to mid-size applications like factories, buildings, supermarkets, offices, transportation systems, and homes.surveillance storage.

March Networks Launches Enhancements to VideoSphere
   March Networks is enhancing its powerful VideoSphere Mobile Suite for bus transportation agencies. The expanded offering includes software features that increase operational efficiency and a new, in-vehicle advertising application that enables operators to generate revenue while improving onboard security. The solution integrates mobile and fixed recording platforms, IP and ultra-wide dynamic range cameras, and other system peripherals, and can be managed cost-effectively over secure, wireless networks.
 
ioimage Video Analytics Helps Secure G8 Summit's Media Hub
   ioimage reports that its video analytics solution was implemented at the International Media Center (IMC) near Kyoto in Japan to detect intruders, including terrorists. The IMC, located at Rusutsu Resort, provided various services to media during the 2008 G8 Foreign Ministers' Summit. The G8 Summit is an annual meeting attended by Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Commission. Japanese security company ALSOK was selected to find a reliable and cost efficient solution to monitor a dark, heavily forested terrain surrounding the facility.
 
Dell to Offer DIGIOP Digital Video Surveillance Kits
   Dell, Inc. is now offering DIGIOP Digital Video Management Systems through their Dell representatives worldwide. These DIGIOP bundled systems are built on the latest Dell hardware platforms and include DIGIOP digital video management software for 4, 8, or 16 channels of video along with the appropriate number of video cameras and power supply. Also, SecureTek, Denver, CO, has been selected as the newest manufacturer representative for DIGIOP's intelligent digital video management systems across the Rocky Mountain region including Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Utah, and Montana.

Top London Hotel Upgrades Security with IndigoVision IP-CCTV
   IndigoVision's complete IP Video system has been installed at the prestigious London Marriott Hotel in Kensington, as part of a CCTV security upgrade. The 7 storey, 216 room hotel wanted to upgrade its surveillance capability with new technology and re-use its existing analog CCTV infrastructure. The Indigovision system added advanced features and superior image quality that was not available from the original system. The CCTV upgrade was installed by IndigoVision's approved partner Astro Communications.
OnSSI Offers Video Surveillance Functionality at Wisconsin Schools
   On-Net Surveillance Systems Inc. (OnSSI) is working with the Stoughton Area School District in South-Central Wisconsin to implement an advanced multi-site NetDVMS Network Video Recorder and Camera Management System; and optimize the use of the District's existing 62-camera video surveillance system. Also included in the solution is OnSSI's new Ocularis Client software.
Fluidmesh Wows with Three New Wireless Innovations
   Fluidmesh Networks is adding three innovative new features to its product line: FluidMAX, a point-to-multi-point protocol; Fluidmesh 1100 with FluidThrottle technology; and Fluidmesh 2200 Endo, designed for indoor or embedded applications where the user already has an outdoor enclosure and wants to embed Fluidmesh wireless technology in an existing kit or set-up.

   North American Video (NAV) is using a new logo that reflects the company's position as a global provider of integrated security technology. The top three markets NAV serves are Gaming, Corporate and Government.

  Pivot3, Inc announces that the company's Serverless Computing technology was selected by the editors of TechTarget's Storage Magazine and Searchstorage as a finalist in the annual "Product of the Year" competition in the "Disk and Disk Subsystems" category. The company also announces that it was named "IP in Security Innovation" finalist at IIPSEC 2009 in Coventry, United Kingdom, for innovations and achievements in the physical security market.
 
Genetec to Distribute HID Fargo Printers
  
Genetec is partnering with HID Global to provide a full line of Fargo brand card printing solutions for its IP access control solution, Synergis. This will complement Genetec's existing offering, which includes HID's full line of Edge and VertX Network Access Control solutions, cards and readers.
